One unique geological area, found only here. Scientist concluded the meteoras were formed around 6 million years ago. The monasteries were built at the top of this rocks starting in the 14 century. Out of 24 monasteries built here, today we only have 6 in working order. Meteora, in Greek language, means “suspended in the air” and are considered the most beautiful natural monuments of the country. You can visit the monasteries and one workshop and you will learn how the traditional religious regalia are made.
